A fixed 110 × 110 mm square stage provides a stable platform for microscope slides, while the dust-proof triple revolving nosepiece uses positive click stops for objective positioning.

A key feature of the KG-3 is its focusable rack-and-pinion substage Abbe condenser, specified with NA 1.25 and an iris diaphragm. This allows the condenser position and illumination to be adjusted according to the objective and specimen being examined.
