How does the leak test work?

Samples are placed in the polycarbonate desiccator. The pump creates vacuum, which is held for the preset time and then released. Samples should keep their shape. The packs can also be immersed in a coloured dye solution such as methylene blue: dye entering through a hole shows the leak.
