Frequently asked questions

What does the S-902 measure?

pH from 0 to 14.00 with 0.01 pH resolution, and millivolts from 0 to ±1999 mV with 1 mV resolution. Accuracy is ±0.01 pH and ±1 mV.

How do I calibrate it?

It supports 3-point calibration using the buffer tablets supplied. Follow the order and buffer values given in the instruction manual, rinsing the electrode with distilled water between buffers.

Does it compensate for temperature automatically?

Yes. A temperature probe is supplied, and automatic temperature compensation works from 0 to 100 °C.

What is auto-ranging slope correction?

After calibration the meter works out the electrode slope automatically within 80 to 120 %. A slope far outside this range suggests the electrode needs cleaning or replacing.

What is the difference between the S-902 and the S-901?

The S-902 adds 3-point calibration, automatic temperature compensation with a probe and auto-ranging slope. The S-901 uses 2-point calibration and a manually set temperature.

What is supplied with the meter?

A combination pH electrode, buffer tablets, an electrode stand, a temperature probe, an instruction manual, a dust cover and a 12 V DC adapter.

Can I measure redox potential (mV)?

The meter has a millivolt range, so it can read mV values. For redox (ORP) measurement you would normally use a suitable ORP electrode, which is not part of the standard accessories. Ask us if you need one.

How often should I calibrate?

Calibrate before each day of use, or before critical measurements, using fresh buffers. Recalibrate if the electrode is replaced or readings drift.

How do I look after the electrode?

Rinse with distilled water after each use, keep it in storage solution and never let it dry. Do not store it in distilled water.

Can I get a GST invoice and a bulk or institutional quotation?

Yes. Labmart supplies colleges, hospitals, pharma companies and government laboratories across India and issues a GST invoice with every order. For bulk or institutional quantities, send us the quantity you need and we will share a quotation.
